On the COLD weekend of January 13-15th, 2006, Meagan Lee and Stephanie Suddeth got their openwater certification! Their instructor Phil Hutchens joins Meagan and Stephanie for this picture in front of beautiful Morrison Springs, Florida.
Two beautiful smiles ! Meagan Lee and Stephanie Suddeth at Vortex Springs, Florida Phil helps Stephanie put on her gear for her first openwater dive. Someone overheard him telling her the water would really be warm....... yeah, right !
Meagan Lee gears up. Don't listen to those people getting out of the water, trust me, it is going to be WARM! Stephanie Suddeth flashes that beautiful smile, all geared up and ready to go diving ! It looks like all that pool work paid off, because both of them did a GREAT job at openwater!
Chris Gamble joined Stephanie for our trip to Vortex/Morrison's. They had been engaged for less than a month, Congratulations Chris and Stephanie !! I look forward to having Chris in our spring class. Meagan STILL putting on her gear, as the sun begins to set ! I am kidding!

The buddy system
in practice ! Stephanie
uses her buddy Meagan
for a prop as she
puts on her fins.
Meagan gives her instructor Phil a good laugh. She always had a smile on her face, and kept one on her instructor's face too.

After lunch, Stephanie all suited up and ready for her first giant stride. Are we really going to jump in that water AGAIN? Phil looks on as Meagan makes the perfect giant stride. Look what form.....she made her instructor proud !

Stephanie makes another great entry.... pretty good for their first time making a giant stride in 40 degree weather ! An 'on the surface' predive briefing before descending to 60' to the bottom of the springs at Vortex. "Couldn't we have done this briefing in the car, in front of the heater !!?," they asked.
