Relay for Life Div-a-thon 2003
Our group placed second in our division by raising $5000 for the fight against cancer!
|
This year Barracuda Divers joined forces with Tidepool Diving to help raise money for the Relay For Life in Cullman County. This event is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. We decided to put on a 48 hour Dive Marathon-Diving For the Cure! Our plan was to ask for pledges for each hour we were able to remain underwater. We had nearly 100 people involved and were able to keep at least one diver underwater for 48 straight hours, and almost all of that time we had two people underwater. We passed the time playing underwater checkers, toss the sharks, and talking with our buddy with the underwater communication system. Through our efforts with the Div-a-thon, along with other events, we raised over $5,500 for the American Cancer Society!! This is something for which we should all be very proud!
